CBSE Capacity Building Programme

”Adolescence represents an inner emotional upheaval, a struggle between the eternal human wish to cling to the past and the equally powerful wish to get on with the future.”

Swarnprastha Public School organised a two day CBSE Capacity Building Programme on Adolescence Education on 20th and 21st July 2024. The workshop was conducted by Dr Ajit Bhardwaj, Principal Ujjwal Shiksha Senior Secondary School and Ms Neha Sharma, PGT & HOD English. 60 teachers participated in the training. The aim of the workshop was to sensitize and orient teachers about adolescent problems and associated issues, need and relevance of reproductive health education, crucial role of young minds for bringing about a change. The workshop aimed to facilitate awareness on adolescent's needs and bridging the information gap. Deliberate discussions on equally important subjects like physical growth and puberty; adolescent body image concerns; sexual roles and responsibilities; coping with stress; peer pressure and managing conflict were taken up in the workshop. The workshop also impressed upon the significance of listening, understanding, appreciating and suitably incorporating the adolescent's viewpoints.

Presentations on mood swings of adolescents, problem of drug addiction were also taken into consideration by the resource persons. They discussed all related points in depth about the Adolescent Education- its need and challenges in present scenario along with the increasing parents’ involvement in the process. The workshop concluded with an aim to create school environment as the ideal setting to empower the students beyond academics with correct knowledge and prepare them to face any challenges with a high spirit.
